With love and pride, Preoccupations present Ill at Ease, our 5th album and first on the Born Losers label. After 13 years of highs and lows—broken bones, stolen gear, lost friends, and countless hours in cramped spaces—we’ve come to accept the ups and downs as part of the journey. We’ve played over 400 shows globally, aging together and making albums along the way, some of which have been praised, others less so.

Ill at Ease draws from new influences and reflects our current state of mind. The music explores themes of anxiety, dread, and fleeting hope, from barren landscapes to distant sci-fi worlds. It’s another collection of songs shaped by the world around us, where we still find meaning in the chaos. After 13 years, we're grateful to still be making and sharing new music, even if the ground beneath us might not hold for long. We remain, forever, Ill at Ease.
